I just bought a 2002 Toyota Camry XLE that is in immaculate condition. One owner and the car was garage kept all these years with 50,000 original miles. I also have a 2021 Camry XSE all wheel drive and love them both.

It’s an M5R1, literally one of the worst lightest duty truck transmissions ever made. I have an R2 in my F150, the “heavy duty” version (LOL) and it’s a hunk of junk. Leaks and breaks stuff constantly. They were made by Mazda FFS. Nothing to be proud of. If I could find an affordable ZF5 to replace it, I would’ve pulled it and lit on it fire and let that Chinesium magnesium burn it to the goddamn ground a long time ago lol.

I would buy older, 87-90 90-95, the closer you get to 2000 and today's models the worse it gets when it's time to give these trucks tlc in the garage.

I'm a Chevy guy but classic Chevy cars and trucks is what I like, but I did have an s10 that I just scrapped, I was so good to the truck I even kept the whole engine when you pop the hood everything looked new on and around the engine and the exhaust manifold looked new the engine block everything. It got to the point of every time I started it and drove it a 2 miles the engine light would come on. I chased everything on that truck that is junk called the s10 by General Motors. I now have a 90 Chevy Silverado 1500 standard cab and short bed 5.7 liter engine that is tired but doesn't whine and complain and complain and complain everytime I drive it locally in my city even and I never go out of my city as in downtown, never drive far like that. S10 I had still just whine whine whine whine complain complain complain complain, I got tired of it. Maybe it's a 98 vehicle thing, but are rangers like that after owning them for awhile? I don't hot rod these type of compact vehicles either.

Did ford put a whinny fletching ecm in it that is never happy with your driving, like how gm ruined the s10 like that? How is it actually when its time to really do more than an oil change, like a tuneup or new starter motor are tasks like that just as bad as doing them on the gm compact pickup chevy made in the late 90s and early 2003's is in 1998-2003. Is a ford ranger going to tick you off like that if you never owned one and are looking at one?

The most expensive and rotten vehicle I've ever owned in my whole is a Chevy s10, I don't recommend these pieces of gm crap for a kid's first vehicle. These trucks get so upsetting to own the longer you keep them, they are money pits. Listen I'm a Chevy guy all the way but I will never ever buy a gm vehicle in the year range of 98-2003 ever again. 89-95 only, to whoever reads this comment when you pop the hood on a 98-2003 you will see what I'm talking about. I don't know what the heck gm ceo was thinking by shoving sensors in tight spots and putting plastic engine trash around it and all over those sensors.

I got the 2004 3.0 V6 Camry, can confirm the mpg isnt as good. If i sell mine, its to go 2.4L. Thats if i dont go Corolla or Prius. My 22re 4runner does just fine getting only 19mpg, dont need my baby blue sedan doing the same

This Camry totally copied the 1992-95 Ford Taurus styling but made it bulletproof with Toyota reliability. Out of this gen Camry of 2002-2006 the 2002 and 2003 models were probably made the best as I see 05-06 with rust and the older ones (distinguished by tail lights design) are still solid with no rust and still look nice and I'm in Northeast OH

The person making this video arrogantly misspoke. The 4.0 OHV is just a bigger version of the 3.0 OHV I have the 4.0 OHV and it’s bulletproof. The 4.0 OHC DIDN’T COME OUT UNTIL YEARS LATER. 2006 and after the OHV engines are fine.

The Chevy trucks up until 2007 were definitely rocks. In the past i owned a 1997 k1500 with a 5.7, a 2002 5.3 Silverado, and a 2006 Silverado with the 5.3. All very high mileage and never had any issues other than the junky 4L60E dropping 3rd and 4th so I’ve had 4 transmission rebuilds between the three. I had bought a 2017 Silverado new and had nothing but issues and was a pile so I traded for a 2015 Ram 1500, drove it for ~275k with 0 issues now a 2024 Ram 1500 Laramie that I’ve put 53k on it and never misses a beat. If I have any issues out of this I’ll just get an LBZ 2500 and drive the wheels off it!! Plus no $700 payments

Fix Or Repair Daily. My brother and I have had a 2000 F-150 4.2l manual since it was brand new in 2000. Drove it all through high school, desert trips with dirtbikes. Still own it and its running great, although it is true, requires near daily work. I may have broke a few ribs doing the spark plugs

My 98 4.2 is awesome my odometer stopped working at 355 k and that was about 4 years ago and still runs great and it does work it not just a grocery getter i have pushed the truck almost to it limits

Getting the V6 version but because its whats availible with the best miles/least body damage and I know the oil burning isnt really an issue but tho it is less gas milage I dont gotta change my oil as much

This guy doesn't know what he is talking about. they do have timing chain issues my 06 Dakota has 214,000 going strong I'm getting on the open road 19 to 21 miles a gallon that's in North Idaho with all our mountains the back to cylinders are tough to get to but doable

170k+ miles on our 4.7L 01 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab, driven hard but taken care of (okay wasn’t religious on oil changes) . Runs great still. No blown engines or trannies. Maybe it’s location. We’re in Central Texas.

I’ve got a 02 Camry LE. 2.4 Automatic. It only has 115k on it now but it has been my daily driver for over a year now. The interior is near perfect and the cloth seats are extremely comfortable. Mine had 100k when I got it. I immediately changed the spark plugs, trans fluid, coolant and pvc. AC is freaking ice cold. I did need to replace a leaking valve cover gasket and very noisy alternator. The 02-04 2.4 did have a issue though. If for some reason you overheated the engine and blew a head gasket there was a issue with some of the rear head bolt threads coming out of the block when the bolts were removed. The solution is to never let it overheat. Oh mine burns none/zero oil between its 4K mileage interval. Hard to love just a basic car for transportation but that is the very reason why I love it.
